A Little about me and why I started CheckMyFolks
My name is James Leonard and I lived out-of-state and far away from my family for 20 years. Once each year, I made the trip back to Littleton, Colorado to check on my folks. Sometimes, I would find that they hadn't repaired or fixed things that had broken, and even had neglected to call a repair person to have them fixed if they weren't capable of doing it themselves. At this stage of life, they had apparently decided that if they couldn't do it themselves, then they would just do without. That upset me because I couldn't be there very often to help them myself. Once a year just wasn't enough to take care of them the way they deserved. I now live in Denver,Co taking care of my folks for years now and others. Our parents won't always tell us what they need. They don't want to burden us with their troubles. I had no reservations as a kid telling them what I needed.18 years or longer our folks took care of us. Lets make their last years with us the best we can. Our folks won't always be honest about what they really need. If you can't be there to check on your parents or loved one, I will help you do it. I remember the stress of simply not knowing if my own parent were really okay, and I started CheckMyFolks so that you don't have to go through the same anguish.
